Controlled shot peening service for metal surfaces
Shot peening
Shot peening
Controlled shot peening, or Shot Peening, is a process and its purpose is to increase the resistance to fatigue and corrosion of mechanical parts.
The controlled shot peening or shot peening process essentially consists in subjecting the most stressed areas of a mechanical organ to a bombardment of steel, glass or ceramic spheres of appropriate diameter.
The transformation of part of the kinetic energy, possessed by the spheres, into plastic deformation energy of the surface of the material of the piece, induces a state of compression tension which considerably increases the resistance capacity to loads repeated cyclically over time.
The control, through X-ray diffraction, of the induced voltages allows the optimization of the process parameters and makes high improvements in performance possible.

Activities
To carry out the shot peening process, 2 Effe Engineering uses six-axis anthropomorphic robots. 2 Effe Engineering can carry out shot peening or shot peening treatments even in the field on large components such as Pelton, Kaplan and Francis impellers.
